Title: Senior Manager, The Climate Reality Project Program
Location: WWF China Beijing Office
Reports to: Director, Climate & Energy Programme
The Climate Reality Project China Program Senior Manager is responsible for conducting research and providing briefings on China’s climate change policies, developing the capacity and effectiveness of trained Climate Leaders and for supporting efforts to establish and maintain relationships with outside partners including the private sector, non-governmental organizations, grassroots coalitions, governments, high-level individuals and influencers, and other groups that support Climate Reality’s mission.
Function:1.Provide deep insight of climate change and energy policies in order to improve national climate change awareness, action and to promote Climate Reality’s projects in China.
Main Responsibilities:1.Work with Program Director/Practice Head to develop annual work plan.
1.Internal: Primary supervisor is C&E Director with direct and regular input and collaboration with the Director of Strategic Partnerships at The Climate Reality Project in Washington, DC. Regular contact with Climate Reality Project leadership and WWF teammates. Occasional contact with other WWF conservation programmes, Public Engagement Department and Operation teams.2.External: Regular interaction with academic institutes, relevant government officials, businesses, donors, media and NGO peers working in the field.
1.Excellent knowledge in international climate change negotiation, energy policy and climate communications.
2.Excellent research skills and working ability.
3.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.
4.Good interpersonal communication and team management skills.
5.Experienced in project management
6.Proactive, innovative and output-oriented personality.
7.Strong team spirit.
8.A post-graduate degree in environment, economics and/or energy policy is required.
9.At least 5 years’ experience in related area, 2-3 years in managerial role is preferred.
10.Strong project management skills, results orientation.
11.Experience of working in an international context and the ability to respect and work well with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
12.Ability to develop, maintain and enjoy effective working relationships with people from a variety of organizations and with a wide variety of functional expertise.
13.Proven ability to think outside the box to develop innovative partner and external engagement strategy ideas.
